There Will be a Day

I try to hold on to this world with everything I have
But I feel the weight of what it brings, and the hurt that tries to grab
The many trials that seem to never end, His word declares this truth,
that we will enter in this rest with wonders anew

But I hold on to this hope and the promise that He brings
That there will be a place with no more suffering

There will be a day with no more tears, no more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place, will be no more, we’ll see Jesus face to face
But until that day, we’ll hold on to you always

I know the journey seems so long
You feel your walking on your own
But there has never been a step
Where you’ve walked out all alone

Troubled soul don’t lose your heart
Cause joy and peace he brings
And the beauty that’s in store
Outweighs the hurt of life’s sting

I can’t wait until that day where the very one I’ve lived for always will wipe away the sorrow that I’ve faced
To touch the scars that rescued me from a life of shame and misery this is why, this is why I sing….

There will be a day with no more tears, no more pain, and no more fears
There will be a day when the burdens of this place, will be no more, we’ll see Jesus face to face

There will be a day, He’ll wipe away the stains, He’ll wipe away the tears, He’ll wipe away the tears…..there will be a day.

Yesterday morning, at about 2:40, my family lost a dear son, uncle, & brother. Ted Schick was well known and loved everywhere he went. When he got sick, it seemed like the list of people to knew him, came and visited, called, and sent cards was endless. He touched many lives.

It's been so hard to see him the past couple of weeks, as he got progressively weaker and finally was able to care for himself at all. For the past week or so, he's also been unable to talk due to the shortness of breath caused by the cancer in his lungs. Just as heartbreaking it was to see Uncle Ted was seeing my grandma deal with the fact that she would probably have to bury another child. No mother should have to bury her children, much less two of them. Although she held herself together very well, the spark, the life in her eyes was gone.

When I heard this song this morning, I couldn't help by cry tears of joy, knowing that Uncle Ted is now in Heaven, where there are no more tears, pain, or fears, and that he is with JESUS!

Someday

Someday, this will be me.

And someday, I will do dishes.
Someday, I will do laundry.
Someday, I will dust.
Someday, I will sweep and mop my floors.
But right now, I'm too busy having panic attacks
over boards so that someday it can be me in that picture.

Kid Food

I love it....all of it. Corn dogs, chicken nuggets, chicken fingers, fries, hamburgers, pigs in a blanket, cheese and crackers, oreos and milk, spaghettio's, poptarts, toast strudels, cocoa puffs, chocolate milk....Yum.

Now don't get me wrong, there are times when I do enjoy the finer dishes in life, but for the majority of the time, just give me kid food, and I'll be perfectly content.

There are chicken nuggets in the toaster oven right now, and I am so excited to eat them!

Home again

We are back, and having a hard time adjusting! It's very cold, Luke has to go back to work, and I have lots of studying to do! Someday I'll put up a sample of the 500+ pictures I took, but for now, these will have to do!

Chilled to the bone

Yes, even here in Florida. (Luke is peeking over my shoulder and making fun of me!) Right now we're on our way back from Sea World, which was a lot of fun, minus the 55 degree weather all day, and no sunshine. We didn't exactly come dressed for those temps. We joked about how people in IL were probably warmer in the -14 degrees than we were today! :)

No, we really did have a good time, and have lots of really neat pictures as well. I've been very sad that I forgot my camera's usb cable, so I haven't been able to put any pictures up, or even put them on the computer.

We're all looking forward to hot showers and comfy beds! Never thought that'd be something I couldn't wait for while on vacation in Florida!

Us potluck girls are very excited! Actually, excited is an understatement!
He is so precious!! I can't wait to see him!
Congratulations to Jeff and Janel!

Ahhh...

I could live here. Seriously, Florida needs nurses, don't they? It was 75 degrees today. Not a lot of sun, which made it feel really cold when on the beach, but it was fine.

We're hoping we make it through the week without further injury. Last night when we were walking by the bay, Adam stopped to check something out, and my mom stopped to look too. Unfortunetly for my mom, my dad wasn't paying attention, and smacked into her-really hard. If he wouldn't have caught her, she would have gone down. My dad had a nice goose egg on his forehead, but my mom had a nice gash by her eye. I personally thought it needed stitches, but we just glued it up and called it good. We were going to take family pictures on the beach this week, but we'll have to see how much we can cover up the brusing. :)

We found a sweet mini golf course on our walk tonight. I had never played, and it was a blast!! Adam totally smoked us all. I lost...but only by one point. We're looking forward to playing again.

On a closing note, I am totally in love with my new camera and tripod. It allows me to mess with settings and take really cool pictures.

Oh, one more quick thing. I got my NCLEX letter yesterday, so I can know sign up to take boards at some point. I haven't quite desided yet if I'm going to tell people when it is. It kinda makes me sick to think about it to be honest.

Resolution

So after some thought, I've decided on my New Year's Resolution.

To decrease the amount of stuff I throw away.

I'll admit it...I'm a pitcher. I throw tons of stuff away. Food, paper, plastic bags...you name it, and I've probably thrown it away.

So this year, I'm resolving to find some use for that leftover food that I would normally just pitch, to recycle the paper and other recyclable junk, wash and re-use more ziploc bags (unless they're really greasy or gross), and use cloth bags when shopping instead of throwing away about 9 plastic bags every week.

A few pictures from Christmas

Adam was thrilled with his Victoria's Secret gift.
(I think it was really a sweater or something...my family does a great job using leftover boxes!)

Luke with the new tool set I got him. As you can tell by the picture, he was very excited.

All the girls got blankets and warm pajamas this year!

My new camera has lots of cool features. We turned on the red to green in this picture.

And here's the same thing, but all the green stuff is red.

A perfect Christmas scene.

Once again, messing with my camera.

The tool set.

My mom and dad, with my mom sporting her new warm lounge outfit.

I got a cookbook of crockpot recipes. Notice the number 1400. If I make one recipe every day, I'll have them all made in about 4 years.

I think this picture is cute. :)

My dad's new pair of flannel- lined khaki pants that we gave him. I seriously didn't know they made those.

Luke with his camo coveralls we him.

Having a new camera this year sure prompted me to take a lot of pictures. Seriously, there are over 300. I won't post them all, because I'm sure you don't want to see them.

It's also 2009, which is just kinda weird. I was going to make some new year's resolutions, but one stop at Wendy's and I decided that wouldn't give up french fries for the whole year.

We just returned last night from Lester, IA, where we had Luke's family Christmas. 9 hours is way to far to go someplace where it's -2 degrees without wind chill.

On a warmer note, we leave for FL on Saturday. I'm praying it's warm and sunny, with no rain or temperatures below 75.
