It Feels Like a Monday...

And the weekend lasted forever. Actually, if my weekends were like the past ones, I wouldn't mind if they lasted forever. I was sad when Kate called me and said she was sick and couldn't go shopping with me. So I petitioned my husband to take off work early and go with me. I got my shoes and the baby gift, and then for some reason had this overwhelming urge to visit Gap. I'm not sure why, because I never find anything there and I usually don't want to spend that much money. Anyway, I drug Luke and and when I looked on the sale rack, I found a tan wool coat on sale for $20! I didn't need a coat real bad, but it was to good of a deal to pass up, so I bought it. Macy's also had good sales and Luke found a couple of dress shirts.

Today is our one year anniversary, and we had decided to go out to eat to celebrate on Sunday night, since I had to work today, and usually am ready for bed about 7pm. But instead of just going out to eat, Luke surprised me by taking me to Stony Creek Inn in East Peoria. He got an amazing room with a whirlpool tub and a fire place. We went to Alexander's Steak House, and then we came back to our hotel and swam. It was a lot of fun. I was very surprised that he got it all lined up without me figuring anything out, because I'm kind of nosy, and I usually find things out. It was fun to be surprised though. My husband is sweet like that. I love him very much!

Shopping!

Right now I'm waiting for Kate to wake up (she worked last night) and call me so we can go shopping. I'm very excited for this shopping trip for three reasons: I haven't been clothes shopping in ages, I haven't been with Kate in ages, and I don't have to look for a swimming suit.

I Love My Job

I started my summer internship on Monday morning. Monday wasn't so exciting since we just did orientation, but the past two days have been amazing. I've been able to do tons of stuff I could never do as a student on the floor, and I feel like the whole thing is kind of coming together.

Minus the very sore feet and slightly swollen ankles at the end of the long day, and never getting to eat lunch, I am loving every minute.

I am excited to sleep in tomorrow morning. This 5am thing is hard on me. But I still love my job.

I'm done!!

Yay!! I took my last final yesterday morning. I passed all my classes with flying colors. Praise God!

I came home and cleaned up some stuff, and then went to Pizza Ranch with Luke to celebrate. Then I came home and cleaned exploded champagne out of the freezer. I organized all my school papers and folders and binders and stacked them up, never to look at them again (at least not for a long time). I spent an hour and a half making chocolate lava cakes (which turned out!!), and then made supper for us and Paul and Elise. We drank a fair amount of champagne between the four of us. I was definitely feeling it. Then the guys tunned the goblets so we could all run out wet fingers around the top of glasses and it would sound good. While they experimented with various viscosities of liquid, Elise and I went and got a movie to watch. We watched it, and that was the end of out night.

It feels so amazing to not have the stress of school or not having to deal with the guilt of not studying. I think Luke is probably even more thrilled that I'm done for the semester. But we're both excited about my starting my job on Monday.

Please Pray

Tomorrow starts the first finals for my senior year. Four more tests, and I'm done. Until next August anyway. I'm kinda nervous about my finals, because I have a class that's on the edge. If you remember, I would appreciate prays this Wed from 9-11, Thurs 9-11 and 1-3, and Fri 9-11.

And after Friday, I AM DONE!!!

Can you tell that I'm excited? I'm even going to have a celebratory dinner to celebrate. Complete with hauling out my nice dishes and goblets that have never been out of the box, and that I've never actually seen (Luke picked them out online and emailed my a picture of them). I'm very excited for Friday afternoon.

And possibly even more exciting that Friday, will be Monday morning, when I start my internship at Methodist on Labor & Delivery/Postpartum/Nursery!! I'm very excited to be there, because I hope to get a job in one of these areas after graduation. Hopefully I'll make a good impression on the staff there and they'll remember me when I apply for a job.

And that's really all I have to say. I need to go continue laundry and study.

I cried in clincial today

Today I helped take care of a baby that nobody wanted. She was just left to lay in her crib because nobody in the family wanted her. But they wouldn't give her up for adoption. I don't know why. Anyway, I took it upon myself to give this baby some love. I rocked her, and fed, and when she woke up, I talked to her. She didn't have a name, so I named her Danika. She was such a beautiful baby. I just can't understand why someone wouldn't want this beautiful baby. She was just gorgeous. And since she didn't seem sad about her plight, I cried for her.

I graduate in....

225 days! And in 10 days, I'm done with this semester. I am SOO excited.

Today we had to take ATI tests, which are supposed to tell us how good we'll do on boards. I usually get between 40 and 45 on these tests, even though 60 and above is passing. I have been the lowest scoring student in my class for 9 consecutive ATI tests in a row (over the course of 2 semesters). But today that all ended. I took my pediatrics ATI test, and scored a 65 on it! I was pretty excited. So excited in fact, I celebrated by going to Culver's and getting onion rings. Yum! I have an infatuation with fried onion foods.

I went to Walmart the other day, and decided to buy flowers to plant before our open house. I love flowers. I was so excited with the prospect of picking out flowers, and I filled my entire cart full. Eventually I realized that I had nowhere near enough space to plant all of them, so I sadly returned some to their shelves. If it stops raining sometime in the near future, I will plant them. I may even take pictures to post. :)
